You're listening to the truth and TruthNetwork.com encouraging prayer, God offers an open invitation for his people to talk with him anytime about anything encouraging prayer Dr. James Banks, author of the best-selling and many other books on prayer provides weekly insight help you learn to mom and now today on encouraging really think about it, it will keep you going back to God again and again. James you take it from there we start rubbing tongue about what happened last night we got 5 inches of rain in our neighborhood just over an hour's time and because we live near River that the main road in our neighborhood was closed in one direction is part of it was washed out and that was while I have never seen it rain that hard. Nearly 25 years I was out in the store doing everything I could to prevent flooding on our property's morning I went out to clean up afterwards. And what a mess but it was a beautiful morning and the sun was shining and I was in all of that reminded of Jeremiah's words and Lamentations 323 the steadfast Lord of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning great is your faithfulness actually left versus 22 and 23 but it's that thought, you know, fresh mercies every time we pray just waiting because God is ready to give them that keeps me coming back again and again you've had some circumstances in your life that really help you to see clearly, especially when your son was wrestling with addiction.

How long was that when I was seven years.you know about your family through it in you and Jeff just wrote a book about it. Hope lies ahead so she could talk about one mercy that you really saw it in that time.

One thing that made this whole idea of fresh mercies every day. Stand out.

What would that be will be honest. Robbie was gradually giving up hope that anything would really change in Jeff's life. I thought you know maybe when I'm 85.log will start making some better choices then it happened and it wasn't all it wants.

It was this gradual change in him but it was the kind of change that only God could bring about an end and it was so clear. God had done it in answer to prayer meeting there were so many details so many things that we had prayed about, sometimes years earlier and yet those answers came what you're saying is that he really didn't expect it to happen even though you're praying right that's right. I mean, if the truth be told, it just seemed too good to be true because like I said I was starting to give up hope and my seeing what God did. In spite of my lack of faith and in spite of my weakness or faithlessness, you know, that's mercy. That's all mercy.

So if his mercies are new every morning.

I wonder what else have I been praying about for years that I need to keep asking for.

Keep believing for. Because you never know when that mercy you've been looking for and waiting for just wanting is going to show up fresh every morning right at your doorstep. This is more than things were asking for is I think about how God is met with me coming his mercies even when I wasn't looking for them mercies like a sense of the sweetness of his presence unexpectedly or protection from harm. In a split second and on and never saw, actually my recovery from cancer of the man praying for me faith.

I hope what I see, our dear friend Dr. little.

I mean, it's amazing God just brought in by your door one day my it's so true you're so right there so much more to prayer than just asking or making it about us, but but if we make it our goal to just get with God to openly share our hearts with each day through the day.

Loving him and trying to stay in his presence. You know I'm enough of these mercies happen were not looking for the league then will see more and more of these mercies because were open.

You know what were actively looking not just for them but for him it really helps us to live in a sense of anticipation that because as we been saying you never know when they'll show up exactly. I love William Temple said to those who believe that answers privileges coincidences is that when I pray coincidences happen when I don't.

They don't course meets the current coincidence is that all night.

I saw a great example that the other day in the life of the church members this dear Elder this way for several years. It died the previous day. He was talking to one of their daughters about where to have a memorial service. Later, when the covered 19 restrictions. These you know what building would be large enough because she was well-known in the community and art. Our church wouldn't hold everyone and that they need to places and the daughter flew home the next day after that conversation, but later that day, this Elder's name is Candace, sitting on a bench in the cul-de-sac in front of his house and just praying just talking to God and quietly grieving. When a man drives up and the man is lost in his GPS is working. So after can get some directions. He looks at him and says you look so familiar to me. I know you and the man answers you look familiar to me, too, and it turned out to be the pastor of one of those two church that candid been talking about with the daughter of the day before so Ken was sitting there in his grief in our city of nearly 300,000 people.

God leads precisely the right past and they started talking about the moral service) that that is fresh mercy and think that God is it waiting for something really does make you want to keep coming back right in Candace that kind of guy you know, really, with a heart prayer. It does all because God is so good and he can do anything today could be the day so don't give up hope. Don't give up hope. Keep asking keeps seeking that's the real meaning of those verses ask and it will be given to you seek and you will find keep asking keeps seeking thanks James. I think I'll wrap things up with a prayer that will do just that. Jesus, I know this is true, and I know the joy of meeting you. Even when I am not expecting things but I also now in the way you describe yourself to Moses in the cleft of the rock. The very first thing you said was that your merciful and the idea of those being fresh. This blows my mind what beautiful thing and I think about the fresh morning James give us all that as we wait from the storms that we been experiencing likely diocese in Jesus name and hear more from Pastor James by visiting the website James Banks.org or by visiting these church in Durham, North Carolina. May God bless you and encourage you to pray
